Our Lady of Victory’s Science Olympiad team fared extremely well in the regional competition at Gordon College in Barnesville recently. They placed second overall in Division B (Grades 6-9) and qualified for the state tournament on March 27 at Augusta State University.

Science Olympiad is a nationally recognized program that offers students an opportunity to experience the practical applications of science. Students compete in 23 events which range from building a glider where time aloft determines the place, building a trajectory that is capable of using elastic to launch a ball towards two targets, performing lab-based analyses to solve a crime, and analyzing an outbreak in an event sponsored by the CDC to name but a few. OLV students placed in the top four schools in 19 of their 23 events.
