Areas around Fayetteville are seeing smoke-filed skies Thursday afternoon. Not to worry in terms of a local fire emergency, the smoke is coming from the east in Jasper County.
Fayette County Deputy Fire Chief Tom Bartlett said the smoke experienced in Fayetteville and surrounding areas on Thursday afternoon is not local. It is from a controlled burn in Jasper County south of Covington.
