Donald Joseph Kijowski, age 80, of Fayetteville

Donald Joseph Kijowski, age 80, of Fayetteville, Ga. passed away on Friday July 28, 2017 at home with family at his side.

Donald was born May 19, 1937 in Joliet, Ill. to Alexander and Teresa Kijowski. Mr. Kijowski was a plant manager at Koppers Chemical Company, Northern Illinois Gas, Mobile Gas, Hill Manufacturing Company Inc., and was a volunteer fireman with Lockport Township Fire Department for 21 years.

He was a BIG CUBS fan and also loved watching the Bears.  Some of his family called him the tool man, he enjoyed helping others in their home improvement projects and had the patience of a saint. He was proud to have built his first two homes. Mr. Kijowski was born into a Catholic family and attended church regularly in Lockport.

Donald is survived by his wife, Judith Kijowski; daughter Debra Engimman; son Dennis Kijowski; daughter-in-law Linda Kijowski; son David Kijowski; daughter-in-law Julie Kijowski; and ; brother-in-law William Blogg and sister-in-law Joy Blogg; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Donald will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Carmichael – Hemperley Funeral Home 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, Ga., 30269 with a reception to follow.
