Landlord in Peachtree City charged with sexual battery

A Peachtree City man on May 31 was charged with sexual battery as a result of an incident involving a woman renting a room at his home.

Richard L. McAllister, 74, (photo above) was charged with one count of sexual battery, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Matt Myers said the woman had rented a room at the home for three days when the incident occurred.

Myers said McAllister is alleged to have placed his hands on a part of the woman’s body inappropriately, adding that the woman did not consent to the action.

Myers said investigators located other evidence that corroborated the woman’s claim, and placed McAllister under arrest.
