John Leonard Flippen, 75, of Fayetteville passed away November 6, 2018. He was born in Mount Airy, N.C. on May 1, 1943 to the late Reverend Roy Andrews and Oma Tolbert Flippen.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Ernie L. Flippen; brother, Reverend George S. Flippen; and his parents.
He is survived by his son, Andy (Jennifer) Flippen; daughter, Sandra Flippen Hollar; grandchildren, John Hadley Hollar, Nathan Flippen, Ty Flippen, and Anna Flippen; and great-aunt, Gracie Tolbert.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Woodrow Flippen and Pastor Jamie Walker officiating. Burial followed the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family received friends from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
