Potential path projects in Fayetteville were among the items discussed Nov. 28 at a meeting at Fayette Senior Services hosted by Fayetteville City Planner LaShawn Gardiner.
More than a dozen attended the meeting where Gardiner reviewed the Fayette County Transportation and Master Path Plan that will be approved by the county and municipalities in early 2019. That process, including public input meetings and surveys, has been ongoing.
Once that process ends, the city will pick up from there to begin the assessment of, and develop plans for, path projects within the city, she said.
Potential exists for additional areas of the city to be outfitted with sidewalks, greenway areas and sidepaths, which can be either paved or gravel-based.
Examples of such projects could include the installation of sidepaths or greenways along major highways and collector roads where those amenities do not currently exist.
The upcoming development of the path plan will include a public process that will be announced by the city.
