Norma Elizabeth Green passed away Dec. 31, 2012.
She was born in New York City on Aug. 11, 1934 to Frederick and Rose Schlafly. She graduated at the top of her class at Nova Southeastern University and was a lifelong member of MENSA. She traveled the world before settling in Key Largo, Fla., where she raised a family of 5 children and worked as a bookkeeper before retiring. She moved to Woodruff, S.C. in 2000 where she was very active in the church and Safehaven Ministry.
In Sept. 2012 she moved to Fayetteville, Ga. to be with her daughter Elizabeth. She attended Southside Church and Bible Study at the Potter House. Her passion was to know and honor the Lord with her life and to be a Prayer Warrior for her entire family.
She is survived by her sons Patrick Schlafly of Key Largo, Fla. and Fred Schlafly of Woodruff, S.C.; daughters Rosemary Hicks of Woodruff, S.C., Elizabeth Jakway of Fayetteville, Ga. and Norma Schlafly of Woodruff, S.C.; Sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren; brother Fred Schlafly of Miami, Fla.; sister Doris Schlafly of Switzerland; cousins Carmen Platt and Maria Nelson.
A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga. Reverend Jane Gunter officiated.
The family received friends Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
