A Nov. 29 incident at Walmart off Ga. Highway 54 West in Peachtree City resulted in a charge of making terroristic threats against a Fayetteville man when he pulled-up his shirt exposing a handgun and made a threatening comment after being asked by the greeter to put on a mask.

Johnny Bailes, 60, was charged with felony terroristic threats and acts, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said the incident began when a greeter at the store asked Bailes to put on a mask. Bailes reportedly responded by lifting his shirt to reveal a handgun, making a threatening comment, then proceeding into the store.

Witness interviews resulted in those witnesses corroborating that a threat was heard, while a subsequent interview with Bailes determined that he made an insinuating threat while in possession of a firearm, Hyatt said.
