Clovis Nelson Fraser of Fayetteville

Clovis Nelson Fraser passed away August 12, 2012 after a brief battle with bladder cancer.

He was born February 7, 1935 in Arabi, Ga. Immediately after graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He then earned a engineering degree from Georgia Southwestern College, within months of graduation, he was employed by the Georgia Highway Department (now GADOT). While at GADOT, he worked in surveys, drafting, rural roads, and retired in 1989 from the Office of Programming.

He was a member of East Point First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon prior to moving to Fayetteville in 1986 where he joined Fayetteville First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Fraser, daughters, Judy (Guy) Dockstader of Douglasville, Ga., and Glynda (Chan) Whitlow of Dallas, Ga.; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Dora Wade of Arabi, Ga., and Martha Bee Reid of Valdosta, Ga.; brother Ben Fraser of Tifton, Ga.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel with Reverend Glenn Stringham officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga. 30291.
