The Brooks Woman’s Club will host a tag sale Saturday from 9-3 p.m., at Hardy Hall, downtown Brooks. There will be something for everyone. Proceeds will go towards the ongoing restoration of the historic Brooks United Methodist Church. Built in 1911, and resting quietly , on a hill in downtown Brooks, the church was the site of many weddings and homecomings for its members. Although empty now, the church would later become the Town Hall of Brooks. The city, along with The Brooks Woman’s Club, are wanting to restore the historic church to use for functions, as well as the urgency to protect historic buildings. For more information, contact Bebe Moore at 770-719-3194. Pictured are several members of The Brooks Woman’s Club cleaning the church. Photo/Special.
