Peachtree City police are searching for several shoplifters who have victimized local merchants in recent days, and they have photos of the suspects in question.

Through a series of posts on the police department’s Facebook page titled “Real Shoplifters of Peachtree City,” law enforcement officials have shared information on three specific incidents in the past week as they seek the public’s assistance in apprehending the thieves.

Perhaps the biggest haul was a few thousand dollars worth of high-end perfume from two local stores. Officials put the final tab at $2,000 from Ulta and $500 from Sephora, including brands such as Fendi, Armani, Rue 21 and Gucci. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact mtaylor@peachtree-city.org.

In an unrelated case, someone was captured on security cameras leaving Walmart “with a buggy full of items,” as police put it. A photo was posted on the police department’s Facebook page with a request to reach out to akhoulivong@peachtree-city.org if you have information on this person’s identity.

Another theft at the store, involving a couple whose faces showed up exceptionally well on the security cameras, involved the increasingly popular practice of using the self-checkout lanes but only scanning a portion of the merchandise.

“The $130 worth of items paid for did not offset the $145 that wasn’t paid for,” a department official stated. Information about this case should be forwarded to bboynton@peachtree-city.org.

  1. Having been in PTC for 34 years It seems the rush of crime and drugs has picked up in the past 3 years. Our new county wide road cameras help law enforcement catch drivers who otherwise would not have been know or stopped. Also, I think there has been a further break down of social mores (you may decide the who, how and why) …and the statistical data relating to the population and particular groups committing most of the crimes.
