Hazel Estelle Norred, 91, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was born to the late Willie P. and Nolie Bell Gaston in Atlanta, Georgia, Wednesday, March 9, 1932.
Hazel married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, James Norred. They were married and in love for 73 years and had 3 children.
Hazel was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Eric (Laura) Norred; daughters, Jamie Norred and Joy (Tim) Guill. Family is what Hazel cherished most in this world. One of her greatest joys was her grandchild, Ella, whom she referred to as her angel. She also took delight in her grandchild, Joselyn who was added to her family through marriage.
Hazel was strong, brave, giving, caring, and compassionate woman who loved her family deeply. She also had a great love for her Lord and spent her life reading, studying, and sharing His word. She gave much of her life and time serving in her church, teaching Sunday School to children, visiting the homebound, and fostering children early in her marriage.
She possessed the gift of making those around her feel loved and cherished. Always a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed more than words can express by all who loved her.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
