A man found allegedly breaking into cars in a Tyrone subdivision is in custody thanks to the joint response of the Tyrone Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, authorities received a call just before 5 a.m. May 5 and responded to a home on Newcastle Lane, where the homeowner had video footage of the suspect and officers were able to get a description. The suspect was seen on video passing by the house on a bicycle as he was leaving the area, police said.

Deputies with the FCSO later found a suspect matching the description at Hwy. 74 and Sandy Creek Road. Police said that in tracking him, one deputy followed a bike trail from the subdivision all the way to Hwy. 74.

The suspect was attempting to get into an Uber when apprehended by authorities. The investigation revealed that he had initially driven to the area, and he told officers he was using the rideshare service because his car had broken down. Police located the car on Thompson Road, determined that it was his and impounded it for evidence.

Tyler Brady 40, of Johns Creek was charged with one count of entering auto and taken to Fayette County Jail. According to the FCSO, he was also wanted for violation of probation on a burglary charge.
