Thelma P. Fleischer, age 88 of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012.
Mrs. Fleischer is survived by her son, Mike; daughter in laws, Carol and Sandy; grandchildren, Chelsea, Matthew, Stefanie, Rodney, and wife, Cathy; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Natalie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard P. Fleischer; her eldest son, Paul; and siblings George H. Pope, Jr., Elsie Andrew and Mary Higginbotham.
Mrs. Fleischer was a native Atlantan and graduated from Grady High School. She had a brief career with Theatre Service Company of Atlanta, before settling in as a devoted housewife and mother. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard in College Park, Ga., and later a member of Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale, Georgia.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a loyal friend to all who knew her. Her love of animals, especially dogs, was only surpassed by her love of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched in her life.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Ga., followed by a graveside service at Westview Cemetery. Services were presided over by Reverend Jeffrey M. Halenza of Christ Our Hope Church. Visitation was held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the funeral home.
