A south Coweta County woman has been charged with vehicular homicide in a Jan. 31 accident on Crosstown Drive in Peachtree City that led to the death of a 37-year-old Senoia man.

Tracy L. Crownover, 52, was charged with first degree (felony) homicide by vehicle, DUI drugs, failure to yield/turning left and a headlight violation, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said the collision occurred on Jan. 31 at approximately 7:30 p.m. as Crownover was traveling eastbound on Crosstown Drive toward South Peachtree Parkway while Senoia resident Charles Nichols was traveling westbound in his vehicle.

Crownover was making a left turn into the Braelinn Village Shopping Center, causing the two vehicles to collide, with Nichols being ejected from his vehicle and dying from the collision, Hyatt said.

Hyatt said subsequent blood toxicology tests showed that Crownover had multiple impairing medications in her system.

  1. Thank you for reporting on this Mr Nelms. That was my brother. I’m not mad at the woman, and I hope she can find forgiveness in time. I just wish I could turn the clock back at least for a little while so I could hug him one last time.
