Thank a nurse on National School Nurse Day May 11

National School Nurse Day on May 11, 2022 is a time to honor the more than 95,000 school nurses in the United States who make a difference in the lives of children every day. The theme for 2022 is “Bridging Healthcare and Education.”

National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. School nurses are a critical health hub for students and an excellent investment, returning $2.20 to society for every $1 invested in a full-time, registered school nurse.

Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National Nurses Week is May 6-12 each year, and School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week.
