A Palmetto man after a Feb. 19 traffic stop on Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City faces drug and weapons charges. He was wanted for aggravated assault in Union City.
Kerwin K. Profet, 33, of Palmetto, was charged with drug possession, possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a crime, and two counts of possession of drug-related objects, according to Fayette County Jail records.
An officer on Feb. 19 at approximately 2:58 a.m. was patrolling the area of Hwy. 54 when he saw a vehicle with a headlight out, according to the police report.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and asked the driver for his license. Profet was wanted in Union City for aggravated assault and other charges.
While searching the offender, officers located suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia, along with a shotgun, two handguns and seven phones, said Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt.
The offender was arrested on various drug charges and was booked into the Fayette County Jail.
