COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Daniel Cook, a 25-year-old lifelong Coweta County resident and Georgia Tech graduate, is running for the Georgia House of Representatives in District 67, bringing fresh ideas and a focus on making life more affordable for Georgia families.
Cook, the Republican nominee in the November 3 general election, hopes to represent communities across northern Coweta and south Fulton counties, including Palmetto and portions of Fairburn.
“District 67 deserves a new generation of ideas to make life more affordable, strengthen our communities, and build a brighter future,” Cook said. “I believe it’s time for fresh perspectives and practical solutions that put everyday Georgians first.”
A graduate of Trinity Christian School and Georgia Tech, Cook earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics with Highest Honors, along with minors in Political Science and History. While at Georgia Tech, he co-founded the university’s Real Estate Club and served on the Undergraduate Judiciary Cabinet.
Cook’s experience includes working in the office of Congressman Drew Ferguson, where he assisted with constituent services, at the state capitol working under USG Chancellor Sonny Perdue, and serving as Regional Field Director for Congressman Buddy Carter’s U.S. Senate campaign. His experience in government and the private sector helped shape his understanding of the challenges facing Georgia families.
“Working with constituents taught me that government decisions have real consequences for people’s lives,” Cook said. “Whether it’s the cost of housing, access to healthcare, or being able to raise a family in a safe community, these are issues that affect our neighbors every day.”
Cook’s campaign prioritizes reducing barriers to homeownership, providing tax relief for working families, and limiting institutional investors’ purchases of single family homes. He also supports expanding financial incentives for teachers, nurses, and first responders, strengthening protections against scams targeting vulnerable Georgians, and supporting local agriculture.
His platform additionally emphasizes preserving Georgia’s natural beauty, celebrating the state’s history, and ensuring communities have a greater voice in decisions affecting their neighborhoods.
As a young candidate, Cook hopes to bring a perspective that reflects the challenges facing the next generation while representing residents of every age and background.
“I love this community because it’s where I’ve spent my entire life,” Cook said. “I want future generations to have the same opportunity to live, work, raise a family, and succeed right here in Georgia.”
The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
