Peachtree City, Ga. – Midwest Food Bank Georgia is inviting the community to join a month-long effort to help write the next chapter of its story through the Giving Grid Campaign, launching August 1 and running throughout the month of August.

The campaign aims to raise $50,000 toward retiring the remaining debt of $360,000 on the organization’s Peachtree City warehouse as Midwest Food Bank Georgia celebrates its 15th Anniversary this year.

The Giving Grid is a fun and interactive online fundraiser where supporters select a square representing a donation amount. Once their gift is made, donors can personalize their square with a photo of a loved one, a family picture, a business logo, a favorite sports team, or another meaningful image. As the grid fills throughout the month, it becomes a visual display of the community coming together to fight hunger. When the campaign concludes, the Giving Grid Image will be printed and displayed at the Midwest Food Bank Georgia warehouse—a reminder that every act of generosity, no matter the size, helps move our mission forward and provides hope to neighbors in need.

“Every square tells a story,” said Lisa Ivaska, Community Relations Manager for Midwest Food Bank Georgia. “Whether it’s a family photo, a company logo, or something meaningful to the donor, each square represents someone choosing to make a difference in the lives of families facing food insecurity.”

Since opening its doors in 2011, Midwest Food Bank Georgia has grown from serving just nine nonprofit agency partners to supporting more than 265 organizations that distribute food and essential resources throughout Georgia and neighboring states. Last year alone, the organization distributed more than $38 million worth of food at no cost to nonprofit partners, helping provide meals to more than 333,000 individuals.

Becoming debt-free will allow even more donated resources to be directed toward the organization’s mission of alleviating hunger and providing disaster relief.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the volunteers, donors, corporate partners, churches, and community members who have helped us grow over the past 15 years,” said Ivaska. “This campaign is an opportunity for everyone to be part of our future while helping ensure that every possible dollar goes toward serving those in need.”

Community members can participate by selecting a square on the Giving Grid throughout the month of August. Every gift, regardless of size, helps move Midwest Food Bank Georgia closer to its goal of becoming debt-free and continuing to provide hope through food.
