Dennis Palmer passed away on June 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, love, and friendship. Born on February 16, 1947, in Brockport, New York, Dennis was the son of Dorothy and James Palmer. Throughout his life, he remained steadfast in his faith in God,

devoted to his family, and committed to serving others.

Dennis proudly served his country after being drafted into the United States Army, completing two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he returned home and eventually relocated to South Florida, where he began a career with Hamilton Sundstrand. Over the course of 46 years, Dennis built a remarkable career that allowed him to travel the world, an opportunity he greatly enjoyed. He retired from Hamilton Sundstrand after nearly five decades of dedicated service.

Family was at the center of Dennis’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lenora Palmer (née Ernest), who resides in Pace, Florida, surrounded by loving family and caregivers, including the

extraordinary Carol Perry and her daughter, Brittany Vines. Dennis and Lenora would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this July.

Dennis is also survived by his daughter, Holly Martindale, and her husband, Chris, of Burke, Virginia; his son, Matthew Palmer, of Peachtree City, Georgia; and his stepdaughter, Felicia McPeak (née Knox). He was a proud grandfather to Audrey Martindale, Hannah Garmer, and Peyton McPeak, each of whom brought him tremendous joy.

He is survived by his sisters, Geraldine Hanko and Patricia Pimm, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers, James Palmer and Dick Palmer.

Dennis and Lenora were active members of Dogwood Church in Tyrone, Georgia. Dennis faithfully served as the leader of the Stephen Ministry and was a guiding presence in the Iron Men group, encouraging and supporting many through his faith, wisdom, and compassion.

Those who knew Dennis will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor, and friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, often showing up at a moment’s notice when someone was in need. He loved spending time with family and friends,

enjoyed a round of golf, appreciated a good home-cooked meal, and was famous for his dad jokes. Dennis rarely left food on his plate and never left a friend without a smile.

While his family grieves his loss, they find comfort in knowing that his faith guided him throughout his life and that the impact he made on those around him will continue for generations.

A joint memorial service to celebrate the lives, faith, and enduring love of both Dennis and Lenora Palmer will be held at a later date at Dogwood Church in Tyrone, Georgia. Family and friends will be invited to gather at that time to honor their journey together.
