A new work by a local artist
Playwright Tasha Smith is a lifelong artist whose career began in the choir, later taking her to performances across the country and around the world—including Carnegie Hall—alongside award-winning ensembles and musical legends.
In Georgia theater, she has become a sought-after musical director and made her directorial debut with Sounds That Inspire: Gospel to Jazz at The Academy Theatre. Most recently, she appeared as Mama Morton in Chicago at the Fayetteville Playhouse.
Smith describes her writing as rooted in “faith, family, and art,” and says this new production brings together the elements most important to her: her Christian faith, her interest in healing and healthy relationships, her musical background, and her love of celebrating Christmas.
About the show
Together Again at Christmas follows three generations who gather under one roof during the holidays, where long-held secrets, old wounds, and unresolved grief resurface. Through music, humor, and heartfelt conversations, the family works toward forgiveness and reconnection.
The show features soulful reinterpretations of classic Christmas hits and explores themes of love, legacy, and the joy that emerges when families choose reconciliation.
The Friday night performance will conclude with a special surprise for the audience, according to Town Square Playhouse.
