Fayetteville police responded Tuesday afternoon to a shooting in a construction parking lot near Veterans Parkway and Hood Road.

According to a statement from the Fayetteville Police Department, officers arrived around 4:43 p.m. after a report of a person shot following a physical altercation. Two people were taken to local hospitals in unknown condition.

Police said a suspect was taken into custody, and there is no danger to the public.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Harrison at 770-719-4288.
