Peachtree City police solved two major burglaries in just three days — an ATM break-in on Commerce Drive and a liquor store smash-and-grab on Crosstown Drive. Both cases involved suspects from outside Fayette County and ended in multiple arrests through coordinated law enforcement efforts.

Liquor store burglary

On September 28, 2025, officers responded to an alarm at World of Beverage, located at 1115 Crosstown Drive. Investigators found that suspects had hurled a large piece of concrete through the glass front door and stolen about $5,000 in liquor.

“The suspects were in and out in less than 60 seconds,” Lt. Chris Hyatt, Public Information Officer for the Peachtree City Police Department, said. Surveillance showed two individuals arriving in a dark-colored sedan, breaking in, looting the store, and fleeing before police arrived.

The same suspects committed another liquor store burglary that night in the City of Milton. By working together, investigators from both jurisdictions identified and arrested Aquarius Woodruff, 37, of Atlanta, and Anthony Scott, 26, of Decatur, for the crimes. Both men face charges of second-degree burglary, criminal damage to property, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

For Woodruff, the case is a repeat offense. In 2022, he was convicted of a nearly identical liquor store burglary in Peachtree City, sent to prison, and released just four months ago. “What does one do after getting released from prison for burglary? Burglarize more,” Hyatt said, noting the familiarity of the crime.

ATM burglary

Two days later, in the early morning hours of September 30, officers were called to United Community Bank on Commerce Drive after an ATM alarm went off. They discovered the machine had been forced open.

While canvassing the area, a patrol officer spotted two men in black fleeing into the woods. A chase ensued, and though the suspects initially escaped, police quickly closed in. Within hours, officers arrested Jaylan Davis, 31, of Rex, at a vehicle staged nearby. They also apprehended two getaway drivers — Detraveion Bell, 23, of Atlanta, and Nashyia Morrow, 20, of Fairburn — who had been called to pick up the second burglar. That afternoon, investigators located and arrested Camrin Bowens, 23, of Fairburn, at his home.

All four now face a combination of burglary, obstruction, and possession charges. No money was stolen from the ATM, which Hyatt credited to the department’s quick response. “It’s not easy to break open an ATM. There are multiple layers of security inside. Our response time likely prevented them from accessing the cash box,” he said.

Coordinated efforts

Hyatt emphasized that both cases were resolved thanks to teamwork across divisions and agencies. Fayette and Coweta sheriff’s deputies provided drones, K-9s, and manpower during the ATM search, while detectives worked closely with Milton police to track down the liquor store suspects.

“You might get away that evening, but we find you eventually. That’s the reputation we’re trying to build,” Hyatt said.

While both businesses face repair costs and downtime, Hyatt said residents should take confidence in knowing offenders are being held accountable. “When crimes like this occur, we put everything we have into solving them,” he said. “People who commit these offenses in our city will be found, apprehended, and charged.”
