City of Fayetteville Releases “Smart Growth” Video Highlighting Vision for Sustainable Economic Development

FAYETTEVILLE, GA (August 29, 2025) The City of Fayetteville’s Department of Economic Development has released a new video titled “Smart Growth: Building a Vibrant Future Together,” showcasing the City’s strategic approach to sustainable growth, innovation, and community-driven development.

The video, now available on the City of Fayetteville’s official website and social media platforms, outlines how the City is strategically managing growth while preserving its small-town charm and quality of life. It features key voices from City leadership, residents, and planning experts, all united in a shared vision of responsible progress.

“Smart growth isn’t just about building more; it’s about building better,” said Lori Funderwhile, Director of Economic Development. “This video reflects our commitment to creating spaces where businesses thrive, families flourish, and future generations can live, work, and play.”

Highlights of the video include:

• The City’s plans for creating a sense of place and connectivity through our activity centers, such as the Alleyway project, the 38-acre project and the up-and-coming Lee Street Arts District;
• Insight into the City’s Downtown Master Plan to achieve a livable, sustainable and economically vibrant downtown;
• Emphasis on walkability, mixed-use development, and green spaces with our impending trails and pathway system; and
• Success stories from recent developments aligned with Fayetteville’s smart growth strategy like City Center Park.

The City of Fayetteville continues to attract new residents and businesses due to its balanced approach to development, one that values long-term sustainability, economic vitality, and a high quality of life.
