Fayetteville, Ga. (August 28, 2025) – Piedmont Fayette Hospital recently hosted their annual Promise 360 Awards Celebration. The event recognized the hospital’s monthly winners from the past year and named the overall champion for the year for the hospital and a runner-up.

Kevin Walker, a radiation therapist in Piedmont Fayette’s Radiation Oncology department, was a two-time monthly champion this year. He was first recognized for creating a special moment for a patient on his last day of radiation. Kevin knew that the patient was an Atlanta Falcons fan and arranged for a personal video for Doug and his family from Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins. He won again later in the year for arranging to have roses for patients and/or their caregivers in radiation oncology on Valentine’s Day. These acts created one-of-a-kind experiences and undoubtedly made a positive difference in the lives of his patients.

“Kevin truly went above and beyond for the people he cares for,” said Piedmont Fayette CEO Steve Porter. “In addition to providing safe, high-quality care, Kevin knows that how you make someone feel is important as well. We are all very proud of the care and compassion that he shows to others.”

This year’s runner-up was Linda Prieto, an RN in Piedmont Fayette’s emergency room. She was nominated for the care she provided for a mother who arrived with an unresponsive infant.

“All of our nominees this year were terrific examples of doing what it takes to provide outstanding care,” said Porter. “They took ownership of the situation, connected with others and collaborated with colleagues, and always kept the patient at the center of their actions.”

Patients, visitors, fellow staff members or department leaders can nominate employees who go above and beyond for others for a Promise 360 award. The overall winner from each hospital in the Piedmont system becomes a nominee for the President’s Award which will be presented later this year.
