The summer wrapped up with a spark of inspiration for Career and Technical Education (CTE) and fine arts students and educators at a Fayette County Public Schools leadership workshop.

About 150 students representing programs at each high school gathered as internationally-renowned speaker Dr. Matthew Arau of Upbeat Global led the way for a day of invigorating discussion.

In the morning, Dr. Arau met with teachers on building leaders in the classroom. In the afternoon, everyone gathered in the auditorium for a training session.

He opened by encouraging students to look inside first and expect the best from themselves.

“The only limit is in my mind,” he asked the audience to repeat. “Leadership begins with leading ourselves.”

Team building fun filled the auditorium before they got down to business on how they can make their clubs and groups the best they can be this school year.
