Before they met their new students, the new educators for Fayette County Public Schools did some learning of their own with their colleagues at the annual New Teacher Induction orientation program.

J.C. Booth Middle played host for two days of preparation and professional learning for more than 160 educators who joined, or re-joined, Fayette County Public Schools.

Greeted in the morning by the energetic McIntosh High cheerleaders, teachers were treated to a number of informative and enlightening discussions. With a focus of “Starting Strong Together,” breakout sessions included important topics like “Supportive classrooms and scaffolding” and “Building relationships and connectedness.”

Along with catered meals, the teachers were treated a Community Connections Expo where they could meet with helpful local services and vendors like the Fayette County Public Library and fitness centers.
