It seems like yesterday we were preparing for a new year and predicting what 2025 would bring. Now, here we are, halfway through another year. For the Fayette Chamber, June capped off a vibrant and impactful month as we advanced our mission to foster economic growth, community collaboration, and inclusive prosperity. From high-level policy discussions to spirited community events and small business support, the Chamber showed its commitment to personal growth and business development.
State of the County: A Vision for the Future
A highlight of the month was the State of the County, co-presented by Fayette County School Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Patterson and County Administrator Steve Rapson. The event provided a comprehensive overview of the county’s progress and priorities, including updates on education, infrastructure, and government operations. Attendees gained valuable insights into how local leadership is aligning resources to support a thriving, future-ready Fayette.
Cornhole Tournament: Community, Competition, and Camaraderie
On June 18, the Chamber hosted its annual Cornhole Tournament at Line Creek Brewing in Peachtree City. The event brought together dozens of teams representing local businesses and organizations for an evening of friendly competition and networking. With sponsorships from across the region and a festive atmosphere, the tournament served as a fun and effective way to strengthen workplace connections and promote local business.
Inclusive Economics Summit: Regional Collaboration for Equitable Growth
In a powerful display of regional partnership, the Fayette Chamber joined forces with the ATL Airport Chamber and Clayton County Chamber of Commerce to host the 2025 Inclusive Economics Summit on June 26. The summit brought together business leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders to explore strategies for inclusive economic development. Topics included workforce equity, supplier diversity, and preparing underrepresented communities for AI-driven industries. The event underscored the importance of collaboration in building a more inclusive and resilient regional economy.
Ribbon Cuttings and Small Business Support
Throughout June, the Chamber also celebrated the growth of local entrepreneurship by hosting several ribbon cuttings for new and expanding businesses across Fayette County. These events not only welcomed new members into the business community but also spotlighted the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to small business success. In addition, the Chamber delivered a standing room only small business seminar on workplace culture.
Strategic Plan Momentum
June also marked noteworthy progress in the Chamber’s three-year strategic plan, where issues related to community vitality, leadership and workforce development, and small business support, and member services are starting to gain traction. With measurable headway in key initiatives, the Chamber is on track to meet its long-term goals, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for sustainable growth in Fayette County.
