Leander Nichols, the 3 year old boy who was put on life support following a drowning incident at a private pool in Smokerise subdivision in Peachtree City,  passed away on May 28.

After receiving CPR and life-saving efforts by Leander’s mother and police officers, medics transported him to a local hospital where he remained on life support until his passing.

Leander was the beloved son of Iris and Josh Nichols and the cherished brother to four older sisters, and a baby brother . Leander held-and will continue to hold-a special place in the hearts of his family and community. Leander’s memorial service was held last Saturday.

In the wake of this tragedy, a Meal Train has been organized to support the Nichols family during this incredibly difficult time. As of this writing, the fundraiser has received $26,931 in donations. Community members have also volunteered to provide the family with meals throughout the month of June. Those who wish to contribute can still donate via the Meal Train website linked here.

*Article edited June 4 to include younger sibling mention and date of memorial.
