Dear Heavenly Father,

On this Memorial Day weekend, we come before You with heartfelt gratitude for the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in service to our country. We remember before You today, O Lord, that all gave some, and some gave all. We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and the freedom they have secured for us through their bravery, courage, dedication, and love of their country.

Lord, we ask for Your blessing upon the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty and service to our country. Comfort these families in their grief and provide them with Your peace that surpasses all human understanding. May these loved ones of the fallen feel Your presence and love and our support in this time of remembrance.

We pray also, O Lord, for the safety and protection of all those currently serving in all the branches of our armed forces serving here at home and around the world. Guide them with Your wisdom and strength and surround them with Your angels. Grant them courage and steadfastness in their missions and bring them home safely.

We ask you dear Lord to guide and enlighten our nation so that we may never forget the cost of our freedom. Help us to honor the memory of those who have fallen by striving to live in peace, unity, and Christian brotherhood with people around the world. May their legacy inspire us to work towards a world where justice and liberty prevail.

And guide us, O Lord, to know when to take up arms for the sake of peace and protection and when to achieve that peace and protection through diplomacy.

We thank You for the great blessings of this nation and for the opportunity to live in a land that values freedom and service. May we all be mindful of the sacrifices made for us and hold dear the Biblical principles upon which our country was founded.

We ask You, O God, to bless America again and again.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen
