April was a dynamic month as we stayed focused on serving Fayette County, supporting our Chamber members, and preparing for future growth. Among the month’s highlights, the Chamber hosted its monthly Business Power Hour featuring Jan Lennon, Executive Deputy General Manager of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. We also held our annual Business Outlook Summit, where leaders discussed key topics including economic development, the state of the film industry, ongoing transportation initiatives, and municipal growth projects. We were especially proud to celebrate several new businesses with ribbon cuttings that have chosen to call Fayette County home.
Beyond events and programs, the Chamber began work on its next three-year strategic plan and continued preliminary efforts for office renovations and accreditation. We also marked a major milestone in our leadership pipeline with the graduation of our 45th Leadership Fayette class—an enduring testament to the power of leadership development in our community.
As full as April was, May promises to be just as energizing. One key focus is the upcoming 2026 Leadership Fayette program. Applications are now open, and we encourage you to apply—or nominate a rising leader within your organization. For those unfamiliar, Leadership Fayette is the county’s premier leadership development experience. Over the course of the year, participants explore critical community issues—such as housing, infrastructure, education, and economic development—while building lasting relationships with a cross-sector network of peers.
Program participants gain insights that align business success with community growth, strengthen their leadership brand and visibility, and become connected leaders ready to lead with purpose. Whether you are an executive looking to expand your influence or know someone ready for the next level, this is a unique opportunity to invest in long-term leadership and community stewardship. Apply by May 16, 2025. Click here for more details.
Finally, arrangements are being made for the yearly Inclusive Economics Summit, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, scheduled for June 26 at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway. This event, a joint venture with the Clayton and Airport Area Chambers, is focused on stimulating economic expansion, advocating for inclusivity, and advancing business prospects throughout the region. The summit brings together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and community representatives to delve into crucial subjects such as corporate culture, economic growth, workforce patterns, and strategic planning.
