Whitewater’s Barnes named Class 3A AD of the Year

Whitewater High’s Jason Barnes was honored as both the Region 2-AAA and the AAA Classification Athletic Director of the Year at the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA) annual leadership conference. 

Barnes is in his sixth year serving as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Whitewater High. Under his leadership, the athletics program has expanded to include flag football, bass fishing, girls wrestling, and a competitive dance team. During his tenure, Whitewater has achieved significant success, earning multiple region championships, numerous GHSA state playoff appearances, several state quarterfinal and semifinal finishes, a state runner-up title in softball, and a state championship in competition cheer.

This recognition highlights Barnes’ dedication to the growth and success of Wildcat athletics.
