With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Raymond Charles Liotta, affectionately known as Ray, who left us on March 2, 2025. Born on February 19, 1954, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Ray lived a life in service to others, he was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and uncle. He was 71 years old, and he leaves behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who knew him.

Ray was a devoted and caring husband, and he shared an incredible bond with his wife of 43 years, Mary Liotta. He found immense joy and pride in spending time with their children, Alex and David Liotta. His family was the center of his universe, and he enjoyed time spent with them.

Ray graduated from Rutgers University, where he attended on a Golf scholarship, and was a proud brother of Chi Psi Fraternity. Ray dedicated his professional life to creating beautiful and functional spaces as a landscape architect and urban planner for Berson, Ackerman & Associates, as well as Maser Consulting. He most enjoyed the projects where he was able to work on the redesign of golf courses.

Ray was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Yankees. His love for sports extended beyond spectating; he coached both Little League and basketball. He supported both his sons in their athletic pursuits, whether on the baseball field or in the swimming pool.

Ray embraced life with energy and optimism. He was the consummate host and loved spending time with his extended family; his grilling skills awarded him the nickname of “Chicken King”. His infectious laugh and warm spirit made everyone feel valued and cherished. Mary and Ray retired to Peachtree City in July of 2022, where they quickly established an amazing community of friends. Ray served on the Planning Board of Peachtree City, and his expertise made a difference.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Liotta. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Liotta, their sons Alex and David, his sister Carol (Rich) McCarty, and brothers and sisters-in-law Larry (Lucia) Maier, Peg (Joe) Odenthal, Tom (Pat) Maier, Jim (Ann) Maier, Bill (Madeline) Maier, Dorothy (Terry) Gould, and Mike (Katharine) Maier. He also leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, and countless extended family members and friends who will dearly miss his presence.

While we mourn Ray’s passing, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life where love was paramount, and joy was found in every experience. Ray taught us to embrace each day, share generously with others, and always find time for what truly matters: family and community. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will light our way.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity. To honor his memory, his wife requests that you treat those you meet with kindness and respect, as he always did.
