Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn is hoping to have audiences rolling in the aisles with their production of “The Savannah Sipping Society,” which runs Thursdays through Sundays, from Feb. 27 to March 9.
This delightful comedy is about four unique women who, seeking to escape the monotony of their daily routines, come together through fate and an impromptu happy hour.
Randa, a perfectionist and workaholic played by Mary Beth Corbett, faces an unexpected career setback that leaves her struggling to find a life outside of work. Dot (Janet Reed), still mourning her husband’s recent death and their lost retirement plans, must start anew alone. Marlafaye (Deena Seckinger), a boisterous Texas native, arrives in Savannah after her husband leaves her for a younger woman, seeking both revenge and a fresh start. Jinx (Jennifer Kiester), a spirited new arrival, offers life coaching to the group while failing to recognize her own need for guidance. Over six months filled with laughter, misadventures, and occasional drinks, these women forge strong bonds and find the confidence to embrace new beginnings. They discover lasting friendships, a renewed zest for life, and the realization that it’s never too late to make new old friends.
“The Savannah Sipping Society” is directed by Tino and Sharon Villalovas.
“We are having so much fun with this cast and know that audiences are going to love them as well,” said Tino.
