0The City of Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a commercial fire Thursday morning at 692 North Glynn Street (Highway 85) situated behind the Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Waffle House locations. The incident was dispatched around 2:42 a.m., and the fire was quickly contained. There have been no reported injuries.
692 North Glynn Street is a multi-unit commercial retail building. The fire was contained to the suites occupied by The Great Store Furniture. All the other suites in the building were affected by smoke, and some sustained water damage. All the businesses in the building will be closed for safety reasons until further notice.
Fayetteville Police, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services also responded to the scene.
The Fayetteville Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire. Updates will be posted on the City of Fayetteville website and social media channels.
