On Saturday, January 18, 2025, runners and spectators braved cold and rainy weather to participate in the 2nd Annual Rotary Club of Peachtree City Half Marathon and 5K. Presented by BMW of South Atlanta and Signature Plus Sponsor Rinnai, the event brought together the community to support important local charities.
This year’s Half Marathon Winner, 24-year-old Vladimir Zander-Velloso, crossed the finish line with an impressive time of 1:09. The Top Female Finisher was 46-year-old Christa Collins, achieving a remarkable time of 1:27. The 5K Winner, 31-year-old Bradley Robinson, completed the course in just 17:59, while 28-year-old Katelin MacKeil-Walter, the Top Female Finisher, clocked in at 24:04.
The event was made possible by the generous support of our Signature Sponsors — Cooper Lighting Solutions, Fleet Feet, and Gerresheimer — and our Gold Sponsors, including Eaton, Ryan Homes, M&R Print Solutions, Line Creek Brewery, Kroger, Chey Photography, Golf Rider, and Peachtree City Magazine. Silver and Bronze Sponsors also contributed to the success of the day.
Besides generous sponsors, 650 runners were signed up to race. Through the combined support of runners and sponsors, approximately $60,000 was raised to benefit the Rotary Club’s nonprofit work.
The success of the Half Marathon and 5K would not have been possible without the contributions of over 175 volunteers, including members of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City, the Peachtree City Running Club, local Interact Club members, cheerleaders from McIntosh High School and various community partners. Their dedication ensured a smooth, well-organized experience for both runners and spectators.

Special thanks to all the participants who showcased their resilience by running in less-than-ideal weather conditions. We also extend our gratitude to the Peachtree City community for continually supporting our efforts to raise funds and awareness for charitable causes.
Stay tuned for details on next year’s 3rd Annual Half Marathon and 5K, where we’ll do it all again, better and bigger!
Founded in 1967, the Rotary Club of Peachtree City is the oldest and largest service organization in Fayette County, boasting a membership of approximately 150 community-minded individuals. With a mission of service above self, the club is dedicated to creating positive change through a wide variety of charitable initiatives and impactful community projects.
It kind of stinks that the Rotary ditched their successful Dragon Boat festival held late in September under sunny warm skies for this cold weather low-spectator event now in January. But I get it, it’s all about the $$.
How about a special thanks to the residents of Peachtree City that pay the taxes that build the cart paths which are used to host these numerous year round events? And our Police Department and first responders that keep things orderly and safe?
