Suicide Intervention Training coming up June 15 in Peachtree City

Intervene Challenge, a suicide intervention workshop, will be held June 15, at Evergreen Church in Peachtree City. The training will be presented by Lou Koon, Army Chaplain, and founder of Armed Forces Mission.

Lou is the author of Listen Learn Lead, the primary curriculum in the Intervene Challenge. He has conducted more than 2,000 successful suicide interventions and armed more than 27,000 individuals with skills that save lives at training events nationwide. Lou served on the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health Strategic Committee in drafting of the 2020-2025 State Suicide Prevention Plan as a project liaison for Behavioral Health Link and the Georgia Crisis and Access Line in development of community initiatives.

Lou holds a Master of Divinity in Education and a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and completed Clinical Pastoral Education at Georgia Baptist and Piedmont Hospital.

Hosted by The Women at the WELL, the event takes place from 9 am to 2 pm at Evergreen Church, 400 Windgate Rd., Peachtree City. Registration of $35, which includes lunch, is due by June 12. To register, email [email protected].
