A young fugitive wanted for serious crimes in a northern state was found to be lying low in Fayette County.

Now he is in the local jail.

Officials with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office released a statement April 19 about the capture of Dylan Debolt, 19, of Plainfield, Illinois. He was apprehended by the United States Marshals Southwest Regional Task Force with assistance from the FCSO’s SWAT team.

Calling the suspect “a violent fugitive,” officials said that Debolt was wanted for his involvement in an April 2 gun battle in Will County, Illinois. He reportedly fled the area following that incident and was found to be residing in Fayette County.

Debolt is facing a number of serious charges including aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Since his arrest, he has been held in the Fayette County Jail while he awaits extradition to Illinois, FCSO officials said.
