Bonds teach Crocs about whole numbers

The Crocodiles are number pros. Cleveland Elementary 1st graders in Haley Falberg’s class used bond dots to study whole numbers.

The small group activity is from the Georgia Framework. Students look at dot diagrams and break a whole number into two parts to determine what would add up to the big number.

“My hope is for students to understand that whole numbers are made up of parts,” said Falberg.
