6 arrests on charges ranging from weapons and drug possession to shoplifting top Peachtree City police beat

Several felony arrests were made in Peachtree City over the weekend resulting from traffic stops made by alert patrol officers.

According to reports, a notification was given to officers the morning of Aug. 11 about a felony wanted suspect entering the city limits. The vehicle was intercepted and, after confirmation of the identification, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Reid Graham, 28, of Peachtree City faces charges that include criminal damage to property in the second degree, harassing communications, two counts of criminal trespass and one count of stalking/first offense, according to the county jail log. The city police report also lists a charge of driving under the influence.

That evening, a traffic stop was made on a truck and trailer in reference to the trailer having no lights on it. The driver was found to be a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and under the influence of suspected alcohol.

Rashaad Daniels, 39, of Lithonia was arrested for the weapons charges as well as driving under the influence of alcohol, open container, a license plate violation and the tail light violation. He was taken to Fayette County Jail and the vehicle removed by a towing company.

An Aug. 12 traffic stop was made at Cheers Liquor after an officer detected a strong odor of marijuana from a moving vehicle. A probable cause search revealed marijuana in the vehicle along with two packs of THC gummies, a 1/4 tab of a Xanax bar and an open container of alcohol.

Two suspects — Devontae Johnson, 26, of Atlanta; and Shantrice Redfield, 26, of Stone Mountain — were arrested on felony charges of drug possession/sale/manufacture and taken to Fayette County Jail. A third offender was released on a copy of a citation.

A traffic stop was conducted around noon Aug. 13 with a Chevrolet pickup truck for a seat belt violation. Further investigation led to a probable cause search, and a passenger admitted having a vape with leftover marijuana residue. The passenger had a warrant out of Union City for battery and cruelty to a child.

The warrant was confirmed and Darien Bright, 20, was arrested and taken to Fayette County Jail. No drug charges were made. The driver was cited for the seat belt violation.

Elsewhere in Peachtree City, officers responded Aug. 12 to a retail location on W. Hwy. 54 in reference to a theft call. Upon arrival, they met with the suspect and store employees. After investigation, Devin Darden, 25, was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting.
