Soule places 2nd in Juneteenth poetry contest

McIntosh High student Luke Soule placed second in the Juneteenth Youth Poetry Contest hosted by the Fayette County Historical Society.

This year’s theme was “Hope for a brighter tomorrow.” The contest was open to all high school students in Fayette County with cash prizes awarded to the top three poets.

Soule was invited to read the poem at the Juneteenth celebration on June 19 on the old courthouse lawn in Fayetteville.
