Deputies on Dec. 6 responded to the Kenwood Landing Mobile Home Park on Milam Road in reference to a reported assault with a firearm.

Deputies found what had started as a verbal altercation between three women in a bedroom became physical, and the altercation, which involved pushing and shoving, then moved outside the residence where a male was also present, said Babb.

One of the women during the altercation reportedly fired multiple shots in the direction of the others, said Babb, adding that no one was struck.

Deputies are searching for the woman for whom aggravated assault warrants were taken.

Doorbells with video cameras have proved to be very helpful security devices in increasing numbers of ways. That was the case on Dec. 6 when a homeowner was alerted to a man rummaging through his vehicle. Using the device to yell at the man, the would-be thief quickly exited the property.

The incident in the early morning hours occurred at a residence on Windmeadow Way off Helmer Road, said Sheriff Barry Babb.

The homeowner’s Ring camera alerted him to activity in the yard, where the camera showed a man in the homeowner’s vehicle.

The homeowner responded by using the device to “contact” the man, who promptly exited the vehicle and ran off the property, Babb said.

It was also on Dec. 6 that another vehicle in the neighborhood was entered. In this case, the homeowner reported finding the glove box open in the unlocked vehicle. Though rummaged, nothing was taken from the vehicle, said Babb.
