Jim Scott takes us around the world as he dives into the many traditions that cultures and countries host to bring in the New Year. A Recipe for Retirement – Monday, January 2 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive: So, what are the ingredients in a recipe for retirement that will result in a healthy and wholesome life after working? Retirement expert Denny Danylchak shares some of the basic components and explores what to do after your routine is gone, relationships and responsibilities change, and people think you have nothing to do! From ideas on travel, volunteering, finding new hobbies, and discovering a new way of living, you’ll get ideas to keep you busy for your next phase of life. Happy Fit Year – Friday, January 6 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive: Many have heard the saying “Exercise is all about adding years to your life and life to your years” but what exactly does this mean? In 2023, what does a well-balanced exercise program consist of and how can you stay motivated?  Kim Hershey, Ace certified Personal Trainer and Fitness 54 Personal Training Manager, concentrates on the four building blocks of fitness:  balance, cardio, strength and power training and flexibility. Come and be a part of her exercise class as she covers these four elements all while addressing tips for staying motivated when life’s challenges get in the way. Disney enthusiast Judah Sworney with Mediclarity brings out the magic of Disney. Take a trip back in time to the 1960s as Walt Disney’s dreams of bringing magic to everyday life grew into one of the most exciting and special places there is today. Birds of Georgia – Thursday, January 19 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive: Bird watching is a favorite activity among many nature enthusiasts.  Melissa Paduani with Georgia Audubon spreads our wings to identifying some of Georgia’s most common birds! Learn to recognize some of the most common local species by their field marks and unique songs. Hometown Hospital – Thursday, January 26 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Peachtree City location at The Gathering Place, 203 McIntosh Trail: Piedmont Fayette Hospital provides the citizens of Fayette County with world-class healthcare close to home. What started as a community hospital has grown into a regional medical center and is now celebrating 25 years in the Fayette County community! Join Paige Muh, Piedmont Fayette’s Manager of Community Relations, to learn how the hospital fared during the pandemic, the growth and expansions on the horizon, and why the Piedmont Healthcare system is beneficial to the community. In addition, Patient Experience representatives will take questions you may have about navigating hospital stays or campus appointments. Perfectly Imperfect – Tuesday, January 24 – 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fayette Senior Services (FSS) – Fayetteville location at The Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive: Maureen Sweatman, Founder and Chief Joy Officer of Joyful Living Coaching, will lead a conversation on the role fear and self-sabotage play in keeping you caged in a cycle of trying and failing to be perfect. Gain confidence in building strategies to manage those fears and explore how choosing joy can teach you to embrace being imperfect.
