Cubs study Earth hands-on

Fayetteville Elementary 4th graders studied the world around them by painting globes.

As they learned to differentiate land from water on a globe, students painted and labeled their own world. They were also able to identify the equator, prime meridian, and longitude and latitude lines.

Along with learning that a map is a drawing of a place and a globe is a model of Earth, they provided detailed writing to support the activity.
