Michael “Mike” Hoyt Murphy, 74, of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away July 6, 2022. He was born in Hapeville, Georgia, on January 18, 1948, to the late Hoyt and Margaret Murphy.

Mike proudly served his country in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. After leaving the military, Mike joined the I.B.E.W. where he worked as a journeyman for many years. He could fix anything and was always willing to help anyone.

Mike had many hobbies which included working in his garden, watching John Wayne movies while eating popcorn, and attending, often winning awards, at local car shows. Most of all Mike adored his family. He spent many years with his wife Donna whom he affectionately nicknamed “Chic”.

Mike is preceded in death by his daughters, Angel Crossley and Kerri Hendon. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Donna Murphy; daughters, Lisa (Jackie) Lang, Robin (Donald) Yancey, and Christy (Todd) Greak; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Pat (Diane) Murphy; as well as extended family and friends. Mike was loved and will be missed by so many.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Lisbon Baptist Church, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow the service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
