It was announced at the May 3rd American Legion Post 50 meeting that Emily Aguilero-Morton, a student at Starr’s Mill High School, is this year’s winner of Post 50’s annual Patriotic Art Contest.

This is the third year Post 50 has hosted this contest as part of its annual All American 5K/10K Road Race which will take place on May 21st.  In addition to receiving a certificate and first-place prize money, Emily’s artwork will become the signature design on the front of this year’s All American race t-shirt making it a unique collectible.

Open to students in grades 9 – 12, this year’s contest featured participants from three local high schools in what turned out to be a tough competition.  Judging by members of Post 50 and the Peachtree City Running Club required a tie-breaking round of voting to determine the final standings.  First Runners up is Mya Mackiewicz from The Foundry followed by Trinity Christian’s Caleb Cook.  Both students also received a certificate and a cash prize in recognition of their work.

The 2022 All American 5K/10K Phantom event, co-hosted by American Legion Post 50 and the Peachtree City Running Club will be on Armed Forces Day, May 21st, 2022.  The race starts and finishes at the Frederick Brown Amphitheater.  Proceeds from this event support Veteran, Youth and Community programs sponsored by Post 50 in the Peachtree City, Tyrone, and Senoia communities.

Discounted rates are offered to MILITARY VETERANS and FIRST RESPONDERS as our way to “THANK YOU” for your steadfast service.
