A south Fayette County man has been charged with aggravated assault after striking his father in the head with a hammer during an argument about the son being evicted from his father’s house.
Joseph S. Harper IV, 31, was charged with aggravated assault, battery-family violence and obstruction, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies on March 18 at approximately 10 a.m. were called to a business on McBride Road where they were met by the business owner and the victim.
Deputies learned that the victim and his son, Joseph Harper IV, had been involved in a physical altercation over the father telling his son that he would have to live elsewhere, said Babb.
At one point, the physical altercation continued outside, with the nearby business owner hearing the commotion, Babb noted.
The son during the altercation struck his father in the head with a hammer, with the father then running to the neighboring business. The business owner then called 9-1-1, Babb said.
Babb said once on the scene, deputies found Joseph Harper IV in a nearby wood line, where he initially resisted arrest but was taken into custody.
The father was transported to Grady Hospital due to the wounds he received, Babb added.
Thanks secret squirrel
I’ll do my best to be nice…but I don’t accept the “hybrid” and “avatar” based society although I do understand it
Check out Pete Townsends “Life House” from 1970…a society of people in experience suits, isolated in in their lodgings, only communicating with others in a virtual way, an artificial life…a story concept of our life today years before the “hyperlink” was ever imagined.
This is why I don’t have children. What kind of “phobic” is that?
Oh by the way a trans-gender is never really the opposite sex because you don’t turn a Mustang into a Camaro with a paint job or customization…the frame and the VIN numbers remain the same.
Why don’t transgender women win at sports with men like transgender men do with women?
Women wake up, rise up, because a bunch of sissy boys are after your sports.
You don’t have kids?
On behalf of the non-bigoted of us, thanks.
Your welcome secret squirrel…I felt it best for all the obvious reasons…what is the difference between “bigoted” and “honestly the truth”?
Is the truth bigoted if someone says so or is the truth transient based what is popular or based on what is real?
Are you afraid of truth? It gives me a place to stand while all of the nut cases rush by.
It’s “you’re” welcome.
And it’s also “honestly the truth” as in your individually, and exclusively so, your own. Times have changed. Give it a try. It’s a wonderful life when you’re not finding reasons to reject people who’ve had to be so hidden away and are now finding acceptance. Welcome your fellow people. Don’t reject.
I wish you much more peace than your posting history here suggests you have now.
