When they saw the Little Free Library at their school needed a little sprucing up, sisters Arantza Contreras Franco and Julieta Contreras Franco got to work. Arantza, a 4th grader, and Julieta, a 1st grader, spent part of their winter break refurbishing the book nook at Peachtree City Elementary.

After visiting other little libraries on a golf cart ride, they noticed the one at their school needed a remodel. They hoped to take it home for cleaning, painting, and other fixes, but the wood was too damaged. Instead, they built a whole new one that will better protect the books for many years to come.

Additionally, Peachtree City Elementary’s box is now registered as part of the nonprofit organization Little Free Library (littlefreelibrary.org). They will also be able to include an official charter number and sign on their finished project.
