The national stage is again calling Bria Rives. For the second time, Fayette County High’s Rives has been selected as a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America.

As a member of NYO-USA, Rives (bass) will have the chance to come together with an outstanding group of peers from across the country, learn from world-class faculty and guest artists, and serve as a cultural ambassador for the United States while traveling and performing abroad.

Following a residency during summer 2022 and a performance at Carnegie Hall, NYO-USA plans to embark on a tour of Europe, including concerts in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Lucerne under the direction of Daniel Harding.

“Bria is going to have a bright future with music. I am so happy for her and beyond proud,” said FCHS orchestra director Dr. Betul Soykan. “She is not only extraordinarily talented and determined, but she’s very modest, kind, helpful to all of her classmates and just a beautiful soul.”
