State Senator Marty Harbin (R-Tyrone) reintroduced the Save Girls’ Sports Act with members of Senate Republican leadership as cosigners earlier this month.

Senate Bill 435 will protect Georgia’s youth by ensuring that biological females will not be competing against biological males in school athletics, Harbin said.

“This bill is about fairness. It is simply not fair to force biological girls to compete against biological boys, and it is certainly not fair to expect young women to endure the immense social pressure against them if they speak up for themselves,” said Senator Harbin.

The Save Girls’ Sports Act requires all participants in student athletics within the Georgia Education System to compete against others of their same biological gender. Students’ biological gender will be determined by their birth certificate.

“It is our responsibility as legislators, and as adults with common sense, to resolve this issue and ensure that Georgia’s young women aren’t robbed of time on the field, a chance for character-building athletic accomplishment, and invaluable scholarships,” added Senator Harbin.

  1. Our local state representatives waste so much time on non-issues, that have virtually no impact on the citizens they represent. Case in point – this. Do something useful for your constituents, good lord.

Also friendly reminder that Marty routinely uses his political influence to pull the “the rules don’t apply to me” card, to the point of being disrespectful and almost threatening to law officers.

How on earth we ended up with a good ol’ frat boy insurance salesman as a representative is beyond me. Go spend some time working on DOT or Infrastructure legislation and fix some real problems for the people who pay you.
